After a long, exhausting day at work, I came home hoping to relax and get some sleep. But as I approached my bed, I noticed something strange on the floor. Several tiny white spheres were gathered near the bed frame.

For a moment, I froze. My mind immediately imagined the worst. Were they insect eggs? Something living? Or something that had been hiding in my bedroom without my knowledge?

Once the initial fear passed, I moved closer and examined the objects carefully. They looked surprisingly similar to one another, almost like tiny white beads. I wondered whether a lizard could have laid eggs there, but the more I looked, the less certain I became.

Lizards, particularly house geckos, sometimes enter homes in search of shelter and insects. Certain species lay eggs in protected spaces, such as cracks in walls, hidden corners, and gaps behind furniture. These locations can offer protection from predators and environmental disturbances.

However, finding objects beside a bed does not automatically mean a lizard has been nesting there. Although dark, sheltered spaces may attract reptiles, warmth alone does not establish that a particular location contains eggs.

There is another important clue: genuine gecko eggs are generally oval rather than perfectly spherical. Many have firm, chalky shells and are deposited in small numbers. A large collection of identical white spheres would be unusual for a single female lizard.

The objects could instead be foam pellets from a damaged pillow or mattress, small plastic beads, or another manufactured material. Their texture, size, shape, and location would help distinguish these possibilities. Without a clear close-up, identifying them with confidence would be difficult.

For now, I would avoid crushing or handling the objects unnecessarily. I would photograph them closely, inspect nearby bedding and furniture for damage, and look for other evidence before drawing conclusions. If they appear to be actual eggs or their identity remains uncertain, a local pest-control professional could help identify them.

The biggest lesson? An unsettling discovery does not always mean something dangerous is happening. Sometimes, the best response is to stay calm, examine the evidence, and seek a reliable answer before letting fear take over.

  • A BIKER CAME TO MY WIFE’S GRAVE EVERY SINGLE WEEK, AND FOR MONTHS, I HAD NO IDEA WHO HE WAS. For six months, I watched him from inside my car. Same day. Same hour. Every Saturday at exactly 2 PM, he would ride into the cemetery on his Harley, park beside the old oak tree, and walk directly to Emily’s grave. Then he would sit beside her headstone for exactly one hour. He never brought flowers. Never left a message. Never spoke loudly enough for me to hear. He simply sat cross-legged in the grass, his head bowed, as if he were carrying a grief too heavy to bear standing up. The first time I saw him, I assumed he had the wrong grave. It was a huge cemetery. Mistakes could happen. But then he returned the following Saturday. And the Saturday after that. And every Saturday that followed. Week after week, this complete stranger mourned my wife as though she had been a part of his life too. At first, I was simply puzzled. Then I became angry. Who was this man? How had he known Emily? Why was he coming to see her every week when some members of her own family hardly visited? Emily had passed away fourteen months earlier after a battle with breast cancer. She was only forty-three. We had been married for twenty years. Two children. A quiet house. An ordinary life. At least, that was what I believed. Nothing about the life I knew my wife had lived seemed to connect her to this man. Emily had been a pediatric nurse. She volunteered at church. She drove a silver minivan and packed snacks for every school function. Her idea of rebellion was ordering dessert before dinner. Yet this biker mourned her as though he had lost someone he could never replace. Sometimes, while watching from my car, I saw his shoulders trembling. Sometimes, before walking away, he would place one weathered hand against her headstone and leave it there for several seconds. As though he were saying goodbye to her one more time. By the third month, I couldn’t stand it anymore. That Saturday, I got out of my car and walked toward him. He heard my footsteps but didn’t turn around. His hand remained against Emily’s name. “Excuse me,” I said, my voice harsher than I meant it to be. “I’m Emily’s husband. I think it’s time you told me who you are.” For several seconds, he remained silent. Then he slowly rose to his feet, turned toward me, and looked like a man who had been expecting me to ask that question for six months. Finally, he said: “Your wife was my…” Full story in 1st comment 👇
