This Thanksgiving carried a deep emotional weight for Bruce Willis’ family. As the beloved actor continues his fight against frontotemporal dementia (FTD), his loved ones—including wife Emma Heming Willis and ex-wife Demi Moore—have rallied around him, creating a united circle of care and love.
Over the holiday weekend, Willis’ daughter Scout Willis shared a touching video on Instagram showing her holding her father’s hand at the table, followed by a photo pressing his palm gently against her face. “I’m grateful and thankful to know this kind of love,” Emma wrote in a separate post, sharing a family throwback featuring Bruce, their daughters Mabel (11) and Evelyn (9), Demi, and Bruce’s older children—Rumer (35), Scout (32), and Tallulah (29).
A Family Bound by Love and Loss
In March 2022, the family revealed that Bruce had been diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder that affects speech and comprehension. Less than a year later, in February 2023, they announced his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia—an incurable and degenerative brain disease that impacts communication, behavior, and movement.
The National Institutes of Health estimates a life expectancy of six to eight years after diagnosis, though some cases progress faster. Since then, the family’s focus has shifted entirely to Bruce’s comfort and emotional wellbeing.
