Every woman my widowed father dated vanished overnight, so I asked my friend to go on one date with him. My father LOST my mother 12 years ago. For a long time, he refused to date anyone. Then, almost overnight, everything CHANGED. He joined dating apps. Started meeting wonderful women. But NONE of THEM ever stayed. At first, I assumed they simply weren’t compatible. Then I noticed something STRANGE. Every relationship ended the exact same way. The date would go perfectly. They’d make plans to see each other again. Then… by the next morning… the woman had disappeared. No calls. No texts. No explanation. My father was heartbroken every single time. “I don’t understand,” he’d whisper. “They all seemed so happy.” After the 6th woman vanished, I couldn’t IGNORE it anymore. Something wasn’t right. So I asked my best friend, Rachel, for a FAVOR. “Go on one date with him.” She laughed. “You’ve got to be kidding.” “I’m serious.” Reluctantly, she AGREED. The date went even better than I expected. Rachel called me afterward. “Your dad is WONDERFUL,” she said. “I can’t believe nobody gave him a chance.” The next morning… she DISAPPEARED too. No answer. Straight to voicemail. By evening, she finally texted me. “Don’t contact me. Please.” That wasn’t Rachel. I drove straight to her apartment. Her car was still there. Her lights were on. But nobody answered the door. The next afternoon, she CALLED. Her voice sounded shaky. “I can’t explain over the phone.” “When can we meet?” I asked. “Tomorrow MORNING.” I barely slept that night. The next morning, I caught her just outside her office before she went inside. “What happened?” I demanded. “What did my father do?” Then she SHOWED me her phone. ⬇️

The sixth woman disappeared the morning after telling my father she wanted to see him again. I am Lola. Dad had spent twelve years alone after losing my mother before joining a dating app. He met kind women, and every date seemed to go well. By sunrise, each one stopped answering. He blamed himself and grew quiet again. I asked my best friend Rachel to go on one date with him and tell me what she noticed

Rachel said Dad had been funny, respectful, and completely normal. She even agreed to dinner the following Friday. The next morning she sent a strange text: “Don’t contact me. Please.” When we met, she showed me anonymous messages with a photo of her leaving the restaurant with Dad, her home address, workplace, and a private family secret about her brother Graham. Someone had been watching her. Dad’s security footage showed a hooded figure near his driveway that same evening.

The figure wore distinctive white sneakers I recognized from an old family photograph. They belonged to Sabrina, my late mother’s younger sister. Rachel confirmed she had once privately told Sabrina about Graham. I confronted Sabrina. She admitted following the women, researching them, and frightening them away because she believed she was protecting my mother’s memory. Rachel reported the messages. Dad provided the recordings. Sabrina accepted responsibility and entered counseling.

Dad blamed himself and said he should never have dated again. I told him loving Mom did not mean spending the rest of his life alone. Months later he met a woman named Jocelyn. He told her about Mom and what had happened. She did not disappear. After their third date, he called me while music played in the background, and I heard him laughing. For the first time since losing Mom, it no longer felt like he was waiting for the past. He was finally allowing himself to build something new.

Next Post: A Rich Couple Refused to Pay My Grandpa $5,400 for Their Renovation, He Looked Around the Room, Smiled, and Said, “Okay.” My grandpa, Walter, has been a finish carpenter for nearly fifty years. He’s the kind of man who will drive back to a house because one cabinet door is sitting an eighth of an inch too low. He barely advertises anymore. Almost all of his work comes from people recommending him to friends, relatives, and neighbors. A few months ago, a wealthy couple hired him to build custom cabinets, shelving, and a huge window bench for the downstairs of their newly renovated home. It was a big job. And they were exhausting clients. They changed the cabinet handles twice. They asked him to rebuild one shelf because they suddenly wanted it three inches higher. Then they changed their minds about the stain after Grandpa had already bought everything. He complained about them over dinner, but he always said the same thing. “They’re paying for custom work. I’ll give them custom work.” Every change was approved. Every measurement was checked. Every added cost was written down. By the final week, the room looked incredible. Then Grandpa called me one afternoon. “You’re not going to believe what these people just pulled.” The homeowners had walked through the finished room, praised everything, and even taken pictures to send to their friends. Then the husband pulled Grandpa aside. He told him they had “gone over their renovation budget” and wouldn’t be paying the remaining $5,400. Grandpa thought he was joking. He wasn’t. Grandpa reminded him that the full amount had been agreed to in writing. The man simply shrugged. “You’re one old carpenter working by yourself. What are you really going to do about it?” His wife stood nearby sipping coffee like this was completely normal. Then she added: “Everything’s already installed. It’s not like you can take it back.” That was apparently the sentence that changed Grandpa’s expression. My grandpa is normally the least confrontational person you’ll ever meet. He once apologized to a waitress because she brought him the wrong breakfast. But this time, he didn’t argue. He just stood there quietly for a moment. Looked at the cabinets. Then the shelves. Then the window bench. And smiled. “Okay,” he said. The husband actually laughed. Grandpa calmly packed up his tools. Swept his work area. Then told them there was just one final piece of paperwork he needed them to sign. A simple acknowledgment confirming that they were refusing to pay the remaining balance. They signed it without even reading the whole page. Apparently, the wife smiled afterward and said: “See? That was much easier than making this ugly.” Grandpa came home that evening looking strangely cheerful. I couldn’t understand it. “Why aren’t you furious?” He opened the refrigerator, grabbed a beer, and said: “Because tomorrow morning, they’re going to understand why I needed their signatures.” The next morning, at exactly 8:12, my phone rang. It was Grandpa. He was already standing in the couple’s driveway. “You should probably come see this,” he said. “What happened?” He told me who was standing beside him. I immediately grabbed my keys. Because Grandpa hadn’t gone back there alone. And the moment the homeowners opened their front door and saw who had arrived with him, that smug smile from the day before vanished completely. The rest of the story is waiting for you below.
