Nancy Grace surprised fans this week with a heartwarming — and viral — family photo that had everyone talking, not just for its autumn charm but for her son’s surprising height.

On November 2, 2025, the veteran journalist shared a rare Instagram photo with her 18-year-old twins, John David and Lucy Elizabeth, during their annual visit to Burt’s Pumpkin Patch. Surrounded by golden fall trees, John David stood between his mom and sister — towering over both. Grace captioned the post, “Yearly Trek to Burt’s Pumpkin Patch for pumpkins and boiled peanuts! Have a great Sunday!!”

Within minutes, the comments exploded with affection and surprise. “He’s twice your height!” one fan wrote, while another joked, “What are you feeding that boy, Nancy?” Many marveled at how fast the twins had grown up, recalling when Grace first spoke about them as babies on air.

Just days earlier, Grace had celebrated their milestone birthday with an emotional Facebook post, sharing a throwback photo and writing, “MY MIRACLE BABIES! ONCE IN A LIFETIME! HAPPY BIRTHDAY AWESOME AND MINIME!!!”

Born on November 4, 2007, John David and Lucy Elizabeth arrived prematurely when Grace was 48. Their birth followed a complicated pregnancy that nearly cost her life. Only a week later, she suffered a severe pulmonary embolism — a blood clot in her lungs — and spent months recovering in a wheelchair.

Her husband, David Linch, told People she was “doing pretty doggone good,” but Grace later revealed how close she had come to death. The experience, she said, completely reshaped her perspective on love and motherhood.

“Before I had the babies, I never really let myself love 100%. Lucy and John David changed all that,” she shared.

Eighteen years later, fans now celebrate her “miracle babies” — grown, thriving, and still the biggest blessing of her life.

  • My 13-year-old son took a dishwashing job without telling me—then his boss called: “Do you know what he does with every paycheck?! Everything that boy tells you is a lie.” My thirteen-year-old son, Evan, had wanted a new bike for months, so when he told me he’d found a Saturday dishwashing job at a neighborhood diner, I wasn’t surprised. “I want to pay for it myself,” he said proudly. I smiled. Since his dad died three years earlier, Evan had become determined never to ask me for anything expensive. Every Saturday, he left in old jeans and sneakers and came home smelling like dish soap and french fries. Whenever I asked how much he’d saved, he grinned. “Almost there.” But six months passed, and there was still no bike. Then I began noticing things that didn’t make sense. One night, I passed Evan’s bedroom and saw him counting a thick stack of bills. The moment he saw me, he stuffed the money into his backpack. Another Saturday, he came home nearly two hours late with muddy sneakers and a torn sleeve. “What happened?” “I fell on my way home.” “Where’s your paycheck?” He looked down. “I put it somewhere safe.” I told myself he was thirteen. Maybe there was a girl. Maybe he was secretly buying something and didn’t want me spoiling the surprise. Then his boss called. “Ma’am…? I need to talk to you about Evan.” My stomach tightened. “Did he do something wrong?” “I honestly don’t know how to answer that.” “What do you mean?” The man went silent before asking, “Do you know what your son does with every paycheck?” “He says he’s saving for a bike.” “You should sit down. Everything that boy tells you about that money is a lie.” Before I could answer, I heard shouting behind him. It was Evan. “Please! Don’t tell my mom!” Then another voice shouted something I couldn’t make out. There was a crash. “Evan?” I yelled into the phone. His boss came back on, breathing heavily. “Ma’am, get here now. Your son tried to do it again…” I raced to the diner, my heart pounding. When I finally saw my son, I went pale, and my knees gave out.
