Preventing it often comes down to basic habits: keeping your sleeping environment warm, avoiding pressure on your arms while sleeping, staying hydrated, and managing stress levels.
While it is usually harmless, frequent or persistent episodes—especially if they come with pain, color changes, or other symptoms—can sometimes indicate conditions like Raynaud’s disease and may need medical attention.
In the end, what felt like a frightening moment turned out to be a normal body response, and understanding it removes much of the fear that comes with experiencing it.
